Initially the name was Manyawar Shri Kanshiram Ji University of Agriculture and Technology latest changed to current name vide Uttar Pradesh Agriculture University Act (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam 2014.

About UPCATET: The Provisions of Clause 3 of Article 348 of Constitution of India In pursuance, The Governor is pleased to order publication of following English translation of UP Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya (Dwitiya Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam 2006 as passed by Uttar Pradesh Legislature and acquiesced to by Governor on 23 May 2006.
As per provision of the Uttar Pradesh Krishi Evam Prodyogik Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam 2006 conceded by Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented by Governor. Registrar Banda University of Agriculture & Technology, Banda would systematize U.P.Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test (UPCATET).
