Social Welfare Department-UP: The main objective of social welfare department is to bring the

educational and social economic uplift of weaker sections in the society to mainstream society. formerly the department was established as Harijan Assistant Department in 1948, for Social Sector schemes Social Welfare Department was formed in 1955. By combining the Harijan Assistant Department and Social Welfare Department the new dept Harijan and Social Welfare was created in 1951, later the department changed name Social Welfare Department.
